The owner of First California Press wanted to make a three dimensional cable car to distribute as its annual holiday greeting.

The carton design itself required numerous mockups before the dieline could be created, tested and approved. The dieline then became the template for the illustration. The rendering was done using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and placed in Quark Xpress for output to film, plating and printing.

After printing and diecutting, the final product was hand assembled, and sent in a large wrapped mailing tube. Matching custom mailing labels and hangtags containing a note of seasonal cheer completed the presentation. This unique greeting generated wide acclaim and remained as a conversation piece and sales generator long past the holiday season it celebrated.
